dogs-n-natives 1,182
Ive just got a second pair this christmas of the missus, but they do have faults!! Or maybe im just very hard on boots, but my last ones were ripped to shreds, the neoprene disintegrated on the insides, and the rubber split all over the place, but they were still semi water proof, much to the amazement of everyone who seen me wearing the most tattered pair of wellies ever!! However they are warm, very comfortable, half decent grip (which does wear down fast). But ive already got a split in the rubber on the front of one of my new boots Not good with barbed wire at all, but what wellies are? I wouldnt dream of spending any more than 60 quid on wellies, that could be f****d the first time i wear them! I still buy boots though, and my next ones will be the mouflon Kevlar, seem a tough boot! As far as wellies go, I like the muck boot.
TOMO 27,297
hold your horses there fella, they are good boots but the sole wears very quik. mine wore out in 6 month. bought them at the midland , and by the following march 6 month later they were like racing sliks. i have just bought the one advertised in the cmw called "LA CROSSE" they have a real hiking boot sole, and so far are going strong, had them 4 month now. these are the best i have tried so far TOMO excuse me ignorance are they made by muck or different make ? are they as warm ?AND AGREE WITH YOUR COMMENT OVER TREADS /SOLE...ONLY THING WHICH LETS THEM DOWN Regards Steve YES genuin muck boots, the one with the camo top. they are still waterproof , and warm. but in my opinion are NOT as good as these new " LA CROSSE" . theres been a big add over a few weeks in the cmw for them, they are £54 , from uk covers. there advantage is there rubber all the way to the top , so they wont shred like the muck boot, also the sole is excelent proper walking boot. only had them 4 month but so far they are great. they are neoprean lined , with a thin fleese on top so are just as warm as the muck boot. do ya selvs a favour fellas if your going to spend £60 or so on wellies get these
dytkos 17,863
Just spent 48 quid this morning on a new pair, the Esk. Holed one of the others big style on a piece of granite. Two years old and still going strong although the heel socks wear out. They are warm, comfy but a bit slippy, especially when walking across a wet sloping grass field. Cheers, D.
