Guest Leveller
I was lucky enough to enjoy an absolute belter of a day with the Rabbit hounds, if you ever get the opportunity to go out with this pack I couldn't reccomend it enough. The day started with me and a few others bolting rabbits with the ferrets and then stopping the holes when we had them out. We bolted about ten in total and then went back to the farm to wait for the hounds they turned up just before 1 O'Clock and what a lovely little pack they were too. There were about 25 couple of hounds that were mostly Petit Basset Griffon Vendeens and Teckels with a few other interesting dogs. The action was fast and those little hounds make great music we caught 22 Rabbits by the end of the day. We've got some big scarey Rabbits down this way Quote Link to post

Lennard 10
Leveller, How does one hunt rabbits with a "slow" scent pack...do you ferret them out when they go to ground? cheers, L Quote Link to post
Guest Leveller
lol @ Midnight, I'll leave it up to your imagination we'll just say that the little hounds aren't too quarry specific  Lennard, we bolted them in the morning from some thin hedges but only shifted ten then we stopped the holes and packed the ferrets away. The hounds did the rest, an awful lot of the rabbits were caught in thick cover like in the pic below. I think that they get so disorientated with all the comotion that they sit tight and get scooped up and those that leave the cover fall foul of the Lurcher Quote Link to post
