Sako Quad HMR17 Synthetic just order 1 how do u rate them 4 build qualitey and accuracy. What grouping do u get at a 100m. :drink:

a section of this post (( http://www.thehuntinglife.com/forums/index...=78685&st=0 )) is below - Deker raised some very true points regarding the SAKO Quad ;

According to Sako/GMK the vast majority of Quads are sold as complete guns and the majority of those are HMR!

Problems with this system are .....

1 Cost Involved

2 Barrel availability..or more specifically the lack of it

3 Scope Zero

4 Only ever one rifle so impossible to let your lad or pal use "the other one"

5 Can't mix light and heavy barrels on the same stock.

6 A problem with 1 action/stock/butt/anything but the barrel, means you have NO rifles

7 Everything else I have forgotten

All the best :gunsmilie:

I rate mine as first class on both counts. I bought mine just as a 17HMR with a view in the very long term maybe buying a 22LR barrel, BUT can never see myself doing that now. It will stay as a 17HMR. It's also not the most expensive one out there, and ok not the cheapest, but it's top quality! Mine will group an inch at 100m and on a really good day 3/4inch. I use Federal Premium V Shok 17grain. Good luck and I hope you get on well with it.

i dont want to start a debate but i get 1/2 inch groups at 100 yards with remington 17g accutips through a cz 452 for considerably less money. if you can justify spending the extra money then why not? if not get a cz. i havnt heard any complaints about them in the time ive been on this site or the people ive spoken to. :good: :good:

each too there own arveyboy, i bought a sako quad and the gun is top notch i get a 3/4 inch groups with 20gr winnies and 20gr are known to be less accurate then 17gr. i dont think 1/4 inch wil make much diffrence when it comes too dropping rabbits. nearly any hmr will group sub inch at 100 yards if not then theres a problem.i beleive this is just going to be one of theses things the guys with cz's and the guys withs sakos are always going to raise remarks about each others rifles.
