Razor Clams!!!

Recommended Posts

Does anyone in the north east know of any good spots for getting razor clams, muscles, prawns or owt like that???

I've seen hundreds of the clam shells on cambois beach but have never been able to find any of the holes you get with them, likewise for prawns, my grandad used to take me as a kid back home and we got loads, but up here i've never got more than a handful!!!! They must be up here somewhere surely!????

We use salt to get razors up out of their holes, or take an empty washing up liquid bottle and fill it with sea water to squirt down the holes.

On a really low tide, they often come up on their own. You want a really sandy beach, and go down when the tides at it's lowest.
