simba 1 Posted January 3, 2009 Report Share Posted January 3, 2009 there are some for sale on ebay about £20 or tire fitters (ats , kwick fit) can take em off for about £2.50 a wheel i had a set on a corsa that i didnt get the key with ats charged me £10 to take em off ... TOM TERRIER 173 Posted January 8, 2009 Report Share Posted January 8, 2009 If there realy tight, weld a normal nut to the locking one, the heat from welding will help loosen it, and you can use a normal socket then. Mind you dont burn the alloy with the welder! i just wacked a smaller socket it on then whipped it off with the air gun luckly it worked sometimes there alot more f****n trouble than there worth to be honest Quote Link to post Share on other sites
gsi2000stokie 5 Posted January 9, 2009 Report Share Posted January 9, 2009 you can buy a special socket thats threaded anti clockwise inside. it screws tight around the nut and when it reaches as far as it goes it undoes the nut. ye should be able get em from any motor factors. i use em all the time on rounded nuts, wheel nuts, well worth a fiver Quote Link to post Share on other sites
GarryN 5 Posted January 11, 2009 Report Share Posted January 11, 2009 LOCKING WHEEL NUTS ARE THE BAIN OF THE MOTOR INDUSTRY. A smaller multipoint socket brayed on will usually get them, or as mentioned the welded on nut and the left handed thread remover, I have a one I could post to you if you get really stuck?? or come to Alnwick and I will take them off for you.
