Lerk 0
Hi there all, just a quick post to introduce myself... My names Antony, i'm 24 and live near Chesterfield, Derbyshire. I've been shooting airguns since i was 17 and have three in the armory; Air Arms TX200HC3-9x40, Air Arms S200 MkII 10-shot 6-24x50, Gunpower Stealth NV rig. I've decided to add another method of dispatching vermin to my list of deadly skills! Having read various books, internet guides and lurking around on here for a while, i'm setting up to get a couple of jills for working and a hoblet. Accommodation is sorted (thanks to a very generous xmas pressie) Just a few more bits and bobs to get, then i'll be ready for the ferrets, no doubt i will be posting on here quite regularly then! stealthy1 3,964
Welcome! cub looks ok, but maybe some thing to pull down over the front when the weather is bad. Quote Link to post
stubby 175
looks good, but I'd raise it up on bricks at edges, allowing a free flow of air underneath, otherwise that'll be the first place to get damp/rot Quote Link to post

para1 11
Welcome mate, just taught I'd let you know what I used to do with the ferrets and my rapid 7. I would put a trusted ferret in a sock and carrie it in my pocket.Find a rabbit bury with a little light cover dotted about, pick out a tree within range of the bury to shoot from, quietly slip the ferret down the nearest hole walk back to your nominated tree and sit down with your back to the tree.Resting rifle on knees. When a rabbit bolts it normaly comes out slowly stops and takes a look around if it dos'nt like the look of something it will stop behind a bit of cover. If you move slow enough it will sit and look at you while you shoot it.Rabbits only bolt hard when they try to jump threw the net or see a dog or human shape.Head shots only.Great fun and quality time on your own. You seem to like your air guns so why not enjoy both but leave your best mate and dog at home don't worrey if a few run off always another day, Good hunting mate P1 Quote Link to post
Lerk 0
Thanks for the welcome(s)! Yes, my hunting pals are terrierists... hopefully with a bit of familiarisation we should be able to work them together Still have some work to do on the cub - levelling up by raising corners and dividing screen to split top and bottom sections for breeding season or illness, will also make up a small nesting box for the bottom when in use separately. The Stealth suits the night vision purpose perfectly; short, quiet (now tinkered!) and no nice wood to scrape and ding! The shovel is just a garden tool, we have a shortened bulldogs for digging... I'm just looking at a trenching shovel for the ferrets though Quote Link to post
Lerk 0
Sounds like an interesting idea... not really had that much experience with ferreting, so i'll leave that discussion upto you! Quote Link to post
