bought this off ebay

It might do for some mooching but the better type for lamping or racing the dogs is the Toggle Slip Lead, with a samll handle and nylon draw rope that pulls back the catch.

Check out this website.

I got mine a few years back at a Lurcher/Terrier show in Ayr. £20.00 - i think :boogie:

£31.00 + P&P or £25.30 for the lighter version.

Best of luck

have u seen the ones with a toggle on with a cord you pull to slip the dogs

there are 2 types....one pulls a catch like the one on the OP photo and the other ones pull a pin, like a proper coursing slip. I want one of the latter if anyone knows where i can get them???

It looks nice but i find they are utter crap. The long lead slips are a waste of time as you have to pull the back and slip it with one hand or you have the one like yours, f****d if you've got a small dog. The clip isn't reliable either like others have said, numerous occasions in the past the dogs were free. I just use a normal collar fitted loosely and a lead slipped through the collar, nice and easy, even better when you've trained your dog to just walk by your side until you say go.

When i used one many moons ago, the Dog kept triggering it off itself. What i done was Silicone the gap in between the trigger and this prevents the Dog from triggering it off by itself but easy for you to squeeze when you want to slip your dog, but as Wild Rover says, the best way is to have your Dog at heel and send down the beam as and when required.
