labsnlurchers 39
Poaching pheasants is a bit naughty imo, the amount of work that goes into gamekeeping but poaching rabbit fox etc then if i needed to i would. I normally have a shine on neighbouring land, if its any good ill ask and 9/10 i get. By the way, whippeter69 pay no attention to them, we got your back pmsl and im sure les would bang a few heads when necessary! haha Quote Link to post
Guest anonymous
I think everyone has poached at sometime. I reckon most people have been caught too. I suppose it all depends on who owns the land and what your quarry is.... If it's deer, pheasant or grouse, expect the police involved or a good kicking lol. Hares also depends on the land owner but rabbits!!! Don't see much of a problem. I've been caught umpteen times, even got permission from it once... Quote Link to post
Guest miller1989
Nearly 110% of the time we have got to poach,we live in a little village and we asked for permission about 8yrs ago they said sorry lads on about 5 farms local,we asked again following year,NO LADS,feck it we will poach the b***%*d,and for the last 10years we have just poached it been chased, being grabbed by neck etc,BUT BUT i told the one farmer in question that if he shootes any of our dogs id burn his farm down etc could list alot of things and since then you may aswell say its ours to go on,we never get bothered anymore day or night! But thanks to "dogs n natives" off the site who took us out on his permission last week we no longer have to poach so much! I personally dont understand land owners unless its a shooting estate, which ive never poached that taking the piss! But a cattle farm/farmers dont let you on,we dont get along with our farmers in area but we still take care of the land and respect it,as we would on little bits and bobs of permission we do have, otherwise we would get into a bad habbit! whippeter69 88
I remember once we went to a small village along the costal public walk and we had a shine in a few of the fields. We parked the car at the bottom of the path and walked back up into the ton lamping the fields on the way when my mate got into a feild and i could see someone coming out of the row of houses and said "where he f**ks this lamp then son" so i quietly shouted to my mate "DO ONE NOW" and we ran as fats as we could, me carrying shit loads of gear on my back an my mate, got to the van could see a car coming and we just went, funny as f**k after though Thanks LBL Edited January 2, 2009 by whippeter69 Quote Link to post
donk 12
Been caught a couple of times with rabbits, once down yorkshire with the ferrets, farmer came over and just says 'howay lads you know your not supposed to be on here,if the keepers lads find you there will be hell on'. He walked us off his land after we got the stinkers out,let us keep the rabbits and we left. Got caught early one morning off one of them 'cycle cops' lol, down near some nature park by me,again he wasnt that bothered. He asked about foxes and if id seen anyone doing owt? Said i hadnt and that i didnt do that stuff and he let me on my way after looking at the dogs. Worst do i had was with the transport police, when i ferreted some railway embankments. Never even seen them coming, pair of right gits them 2 were, nice cop bad cop scenario. Took my details but again nowt come of it. Quote Link to post
