bill 5
the farmers were within the law to shoot the lads dogs not on permission and his dogs were,nt under controle they dont have to be hanging off a sheep to be worrieing sad but true....it takes some neck for a bloke to shoot another mans dogs... teckel 3
you have to think? if his sheep where in lamb they could abort there lambs due to the stress of being chased and worried. he has a living to make out of his stock and only protecting it. dont blame the farmer for what he has done. the bloke who owned the dogs obviously had no control over his dogs if they were raking about. and he should have had his dogs broken to stock its one of the first things you do in training of a dog. sh*t happens but he will learn by his mistakes. the other thing is it gives us dog boys a bad reputation as farmers speak to their farmer friends and they will start thinking that dog lads are bad news. sorry for the rant Edited January 1, 2009 by teckel Quote Link to post

" Nice and that's just the attitude that farmers will take when you have a well hard fool like you putting things up like that! and bet you would be first to run with your tail between your legs if you where caught? why do you poacher? why don't you get of your arse and go and ask politely you might be surprised what answer you get Quote Link to post
mad al 146
at this time of year, no farmer wants you or your dogs near a flock of sheep , so to blatantly run dogs out of control in broad daylight is only inviting bother Quote Link to post
T78 4
i thought a farmer had to give a verbal warning before shooting dogs that are worrying stock? regardless,if the lads knew they were being watched by the farmers and STILL let there dogs stray onto there land, its the lads own fault for giving the farmers an excuse! i know its hard to accept and im normally the first to start shouting "shoot all his stock and burn his barns"etc but the fact is,if the farmer didn't have excuse or reason, the dogs wouldn't have been shot. reynardhunter 3
Just found out off a friend of mine where i get my pet food from. That another friend of ours had his dogs shot dead last week while out on the dales... 3 Whippets and a lurcher... All shot for straying out of his own permission and on to another farmers land. The farmer had watched him, for a cpl of hours. Straying on and off his land where his sheep were grazing. He had to leave the dogs were they lay and do one... The farmer was backed by 3 other quad riding farmers....very sad affair but these farmers meant business..... thats a job for maguire & patterson Quote Link to post
