dogs shot

Dont know the ins and outs of this he said she said story so I would not want to comment however :censored:

Managed to catch this in the field the other day post-5621-1230924856.jpgThis was alive when I took the photo

This would be the third in three days,as somebody has already said we are starting to lamb now over 1500 a stray dog in the field with yews in lamb = disaster try working all year on something then pulling aborted lambs

As a lot of people on here already know I have and have had Lurchers and terriers since I was a kid and have a great deal of respect for a lot of hunting people dont know what dog is if it is a dog is doing this,However if it is a Dog my approach has been contact the police and inform them of stock loss they are not intrested in the slightest just tell you claim on your insurance and you can shoot the dog if it is worrying stock, then your premiums go up also you have to pay to have any dead stock removed.

My approach is I will confront anyone on my land who is not invited there if they are dull enough to come back and I actually witnessed the dog worry stock well what would you do.

I personally dont think it is the bravest thing to do shooting the dog as it has done f**k all wrong it is the prick who let it off the lead that wants the slap,it is like lets go and kill the sheep, why not go and sort out the farmer the sheep has done f**k all wrong

That seems to be a sensible and measured post to me :clapper:

your right there i would agree totaly with this post. i think that if its a man with a dog & you confront him you should make him pay any lose that has to come from your pocket. but i dont think the farmer that shoot this lads dog deserves a penny the lad deseved a warning first aspeshly if the farmer just watched it go for the sheep for an hour & done nothing to stop it. he is a coward & should not have a gun. a coward with a gun is a danger to anyone that gose near him how can he have confedence around people with a gun when he hasnt got the conferdence to shout across a field without two frends & a gun. what a scerdy cat bigest coward in yorkshire.

the farmer is well within his rights to do it but i would not have run one of the farmers would have got a smack i would go nuts if someone shot me dogs i would not leave them dead in a field he must not think much of his dogs

This is a horrible thing to hear off i would definatly shoot all 4 of them farmer b*****ds if they shot my dogs and spend a life in jail i love my dogs and the work they do for me and my family i would make them pay in respect and love for my dogs.I know this is a sad subject but it angers me even to hear that someone has had there dogs shot even when i dont know the person.I would definatly ake retribution as the law just dont cut it with these situations. However if a warning was despached and further on another warning and still the dogs stray then fair enough the police should be called but not shooting dogs but then i am a dog owner and not a farmer so that is my point.

It's because of people like you that dogmen are looked down upon, and the ban will never be overturned. Do what you do, but think before you open your fecking mouth on an open forum.

Lot of people spouting a lot of bollocks about a third hand story they know f*ck all about.

Bearing in mind that a farmer can shoot dogs under certain circumstances ,that it is illegal to have a dog loose in a field of sheep without permission anyway and that if the owner really cared for his dogs he would not have let em keep straying onto someone else's land over a period of hours let alone chase stock it seems the dog-owner had no respect for the land ,livestock or even his own dogs . Sadly the dogs not the owner ,paid the price.

If you go into the countryside you should know not only the Law but also the Codes and unwritten Lores of the countryside.

If you choose to break those Codes do it quietly like a proper old poacher of the unseen school not like a brazen yob who cries ,"unfair " when things go wrong.

S'all bollocks anyway.

do i take it your all on the dole and you buy your dogs from tax payers money ??? and have no recpect for other peoples trade ??get a grip boys this his is job !!! farmers farm, plumers plum things i cant see a plummer hugging his tools the same as the farmer dont hug his sheep (out of wales that is)

instead of shooting the farmer ask for his point of view im sure the story will different.

if you rob banks for a living theres a good chance you will get caught, if you poach theres a good chance you will get caught. im just sorry for the dogs that were shot !!! they didnt know the difference, we do !!

I took offence an all. Hang on i'll just pop out to the sheds and have a word with jessie about what a fence and boundaries are.... no wait shes a FECKING DOG!!!!!!!! I dont think she'd understand some how.... you tell me now that you've never been on land that you didnt have permission and i will quite happily say that your a full blown liar!!! Most of the fun comes from poaching... Im so sorry for your mate, i had to put my dog to sleep today, but i had already come to terms with it before it happened, to have them murdered like that for the sake of money, which is all farmers think of sheep as, is horrific! And yes im from wales and no i dont love poxy sheep, their a pain in the butt. Im sat here with a sheep farmer who says... yes it is legal but for the farmer to watch him for two hours and not say anything first is the farmer just being a C U Next Tuesday. And thats from a farmers mouth peoples, and he's a poacher as well!!! So all of you who think this guy deserved it.... go take a look at your own dogs.... imagine someone shooting them for just straying into their land..... look into their eyes and imagine your life without them and then come back here and hurl abuse!!!

Firstly, most people who farm do it because they actually like animals - they don't just think of them as a source of money. We have sheep and cows and believe it or not I am fond of them - I'm not alone in this! I hate to see them distressed. One of my cows has ended up with a fractured pelvis and I think the cause was stray dogs chasing her and she slipped. Her name was Primrose, she wasn't the friendliest cow in the world but I still cared about her.

And have you read all of this thread - the poor dogs had been straying on and off the farmer's land for 2 hours and had already worried at least one sheep - and possibly the stress of this will cause others to abort. The fault lies with the person who did not have the sense to remove their dogs from the scene when they realised that they couldn't stop them straying to where the sheep were - and the owner just legged it when they were shot, very caring.

We farm but before we farmed I was a dog owner - I have always said that if my dogs were shot for sheep worrying, then it would be my fault for allowing the situation to happen. I wouldn't be happy about it, I'd be devastated, I love my dogs, but it would be my fault.

And I'm really sorry that you've just lost your dog - I know how terrible it is to have to take that decision.

if you dont want yours dogs shot for being in a ilegal place........dont let them or be be on one!! when you poach you know the score if your dogs stray onto others land you should know the score as well.

what happened to the world? people used to take responsibility for there actions! now its all " its not fare" "the nasty man" etc!!

and as for farmers not caring for there animals its bollocks as a farming familey i know they do care about them ! maybe not in a pet way but they dont want them to come to any harm.and the margins on sheep are very small so any they lose are hard felt.

stick the margins on your sheep up your backside fella. a simple "oh arsehole put those f*****g dogs on the lead or ill put a bullet in them and get the f**k off my land now" would of done instead of being heavy handed comming out blasting like rambo. my dogs are like my kids imagine the horror witness them being murdered in front of your eyes, no good not good at all
