What a stupid thing to ask !! Why do we breed and work lurchers ?? If you are daft enough to need an answer, then it's the Greyhound, if you want a pure bred for rabbits or foxes !!

Thats all you needed to say, if you haven't anything nice to say, then dont say anything atall

Suppose you can get some good fox and rabbit killing dogs in any pure bred. My family kept whippets and Ive hunted with whippets a lot, and have never had, or seen a pure bred whippet kill over 30 rabbits in one night, and I have never seen a whippet kill a fox.

Seen greyhounds kill a fox, but never 30 rabbits in a night.

Ive worked pure deerhounds, and have had three that killed more than 30 a night, and that killed into the high 20`s regular. And on foxes, they completely inialated them..

So, on what Ive seen I would say deerhound, but, on the breed as a whole, I would say greyhound

in the old days i would say it has to be deerhound but not enough now in the class thta would make the what they were many years ago, still think greyhounds take a bit of beating especaily the [bANNED TEXT] type and brought up to the game
