whin 463
bluey saw lots of blue heelers red heelers there alot of aussies in new mexico, texas and arizona and brought there cattle dogs with them they breed them with pionters hounds pit bulls for feral pig dogs your dogs a decent stamp of a dog , nowt wrong with him hees up in the leg and not to sqaut nice dog and well they come from australia , been there for hundreds of years now , we only get the odd ones over here as we have the working beardie scottish colli and border collie and there types ,but we have huntaways kelpies localy ,but dont like a barking type of dog to breed to a greyhound ,as to much vioces scares game only way is barking good if your hunting big woods and alerts other dogs that game is on the move Quote Link to post

bluey 0
whin, top photo is the daughter to the bottom male. hence similar looks but different figures. dad is pure work, mum is work/security, and daughter is my missus dog. only have the daughter now. parents of working about 3 hours away on dairy farms. shes a bit of everything, house guard dog, retrieves when im shooting, works cattle, and gets thrown under the lamp for exercise. im not saying shes an awesome hunter, but she does what i ask of her and has fun doing it. anyway, as said before, ill be watchin with keen eyes, so keep the updates coming. fireman 10,919
Thats is a fine looking dog there bluey and what a head on it as well, good to hear what i thought that they are capeable of most tasks put to them. Not trying to shift these pups on but am surprised myself they are still here as these should make grand working lurchers with a few bonuses added like the guarding instinct and the desire to please the owner,as you know to please you is one of there main goals in life and to make sure your always safe as well. That pup with the star would be my choice if i didn't have 2 male dogs at home already a very full of life pup him and as it goes the first to retrieve, the first to do everything him.I'll certainly be keeping everyone up to date with how mine gets on and this week i'll be introducing them to the ferrets and more retrieving work with a dead rabbit as well for them all. whin 463
ye there fine dogs ,but would rather seeing them do what they were bred to do , i think some would be to much dog for some im surrounded with sheep and arable and some of the diolons wouldnt handle a border colli let alone a heeler or beardie colli ,fireman people dont like unknown qauntities unless expeirenced believe me , now its took years to breed to line bred saluks who run the fens and were ever , colli types of the [bANNED TEXT] stamp there about ,but who has vast knowledge on heelers and heeler lurchers how many do you see working , ive only saw a handful and were good dogs .but thtas over twenty years of traveling all over , how many on these nets do that , and most want wee quite dogs ,not something that can go a bit , theyll go but put them in a proper mag like ed rd cmans weekly which is a rag theyll go at the [bANNED TEXT] price , now if they go to the [bANNED TEXT] homes a year or two down the line people will see them and thay say good dog and if you travel with them and they do the biz were ever then youll sell them ,just a bad time and its years since loydy made his vid about speckle etc ,hope you get the [bANNED TEXT] homes with feed back mate Quote Link to post

fireman 10,919
Totaly understand what your saying mate about unknown quantities unless experienced, this x will need a experienced hand to get the best out of them but i can't see them falling short of what would be asked of them.Yes these pups should go a bit for sure but the acd is a very trainable dog and although a dog for working stock, stock breaking them shouldn't be any harder than with a collie or collie x.As you know there not my pups so what homes they go to is a bit out of my hands but i do hope the new owners keep us updated on there progress as well.I watched a video this week that showed a glimps of Speckle and a cracking looking strong bitch she looked to,it also showed some gun dog retrieving style work with a acd dog and very impressive it was to,we'll just have to see what the future brings to what these turn out like but so far so good.I'm busy for a day or so but i'll get some pics up of them retrieving a dead rabbit this week and the introduction to ferrets. Got vid of pups retrieving dead rabbits 16 years ago, aged 8 weeks, one was Phil Lloyds, as you know Fireman i have had ACD for years, some need experienced owners, yet others are fine, most good strong honest workers that are trainable, quick to learn, take all quarry they are introduced to, the heavier ones are not hare coursers but if thats what you want you wouldn't get an ACD anyway, capable of hunting up and catching them, pre ban of course, Make loyal mates, they are robust have the strength and courage combined with brains, that most collie crosses don't have in abundance, dont get me wrong I'm not knocking collie x, they all have their place but ACD have that bit more. fireman 10,919
Were the pups retrieving the rabbits indoors a kennel/feed house type affair?,if so it must be the same bit of video i've been watching and it made me get off my arse and get some work started with these pups. They took straight to it as well, giving it up easly when they brought back the rabbit i was using.
