gotcha :) well im afraid i have to agree with strongstuff , just seems you are watering down a perfectly good and tested bullx . but like you said it will hopefully do what you want it to do and that is what counts , just dont pass them off as pure bullx's as there is enough shit out there at the moment as it is

No worries mate, at least your gentle on me! Strong stuff is a bit harsh but i know what you are both saying and i respect your opinion.

Cheers

:) i must admit i will be intrested to see what they will do diffrently from any other lurcher . good to see someone putting the time and effort into a cross that we dont see often which makes me wonder why we dont see the cross as labs are two a penny .

if they do turn out good workers i think it would be a bit premature to say ' i told you so ' when you are using a bull x which does hold the prominate gene.

good luck with it anyway

Piss off, i knew the moment that i put the pic there that there was going to be some sad t**t commenting on it.

Who do you think you're talking to?

And to the person above who was whining about me being "horrible" to this young hunter, suck my dick! I couldn't give a shit if he's the next generation.

This thread is doomed ..................

A puppy peddling know all.

A not very patient grumpy old Doorman.

Wonder what comes next. :gunsmilie:

Why try to cause trouble? The point of this forum and this post is to debate/banter and share experience but you come out all guns blazing slinging around insults.

I accept its not to everyones liking and i accept that some people would never want to own this cross and i expect adult responses to constructively debate my thread. I dont mind what people think of my dogs, im not after glory or superdogs but i do kind of expect grown men like yourself to behave a little different than how you behave.

Thanks, thats exactly it, the lab should not take anything noticable away from the bull x but im hoping it will add some good traits. So far they have been extremely easy to train. Its just a waiting game now, till they are ready for some serious work.

I wont mind admitting if they turn out crap so watch this space!

cheers

I'm not particularly trying to cause trouble, but I won't be told to piss off and be called a twat by a kid!

I'm banging my head on my desk here, I'm trying to say that only Bulls do what Bulls do, anything else is a poor 2nd, they might look the same but as I said when in a country where it is legal if something nasty gets hold of anything less than a Bull and gives it some stick then there'll be tears at bedtime.

And you do seem to advertise a lot of dogs for sale or free to new homes, more than the average member on here!

I have advertised 3 times.

1 was for a freind who bought a pup then had his daughter diagnosed with MPHD, cerebal palsy, visual impairment and because she was born dead he had to stay in south wales for a long time then in and out of hospital so he couldnt justify keeping the dog. Im still in touch with the new owner, A1 coursing.

1 for a freind whos marriage broke up after 29 yrs and he had an op where the after care meant he couldnt do her justice, nell goes to her new home this wkend.

1 was for a lad who dont have internet and i had nothing to do weith the sale, dogs were sold through him as his phone number was on the thread. The pat bitch went to a lad on here who recently posted his 1st outing.

I know of plenty of dogs for sale, alot of people phone me to ask if i will sell them for them because they know i will find good homes and keep in touch and basically they cant be arsed to do it themselves, sometimes, if i know of someone looking for a dog i will pass numbers on, its only in exceptional circumstances i will ad on here because of the backlash you get for selling too many dogs. None of mine have ever sold on here, in fact ive only ever sold one adult dog and then i bought him back and will neve do it again, mine are all hee to stay, just the pups i bring on may go to new homes if people come out with us and like them and can offer them a good home.

Australias Pig Dog & Hunting Forum ... I have a litter of Arab Mastiff X Lab pups for sale. Father fawn coloured Arab Mastiff, Mother Black ...

Dont quote these neither hunt she is bad for 6 litters of mongrels a year. Sheep killers at best.

Aussies will use anything, have seen silky terriers, old english sheepdogs and x's, basset/bully etc etc y ou name it we've run it on something.

Mate I would leave them at their bickering and come back in 6 months when you have them working. Save you the time and effort of defending your dogs. Like I said not my cup of tea- especially as a running type dog but you like the cross so just work it and once they are doing what you want, then post it- they cant argue whether it will or wont make the grade once its working.

i have mates that have racey pure breed working labs, they do "look" quick but they have no chance at all on rabbits(maybe its the difference in land down here?)and after they begin to mature at 3 ish they lose the waist and begin to look like a normal lab even with a lot (and i mean a lot)of exercise.

they are just too heavy to run anything unless you have alot more space to run(possible as its abit more open up there) where you are then maybe you will get the bigger stuff.

they have all had a go with fox(pre ban)round the pens and in the garden but only one ever did the job and he's a touchy fecker anyway! i have seen 3/4 grey 1/4 lab before which had stamina looked the part with the big business like head but was to slow for bunnies and didnt really enjoy the other stuff and the others of the litter that the guy knew of were no different.

it sounds a good idea getting the trainability of say a collie (but with out losing the size maybe) and the size and gameness of a bull but i doubt it will work but if all the pups go to good homes that they stay in(as pets or workers etc) then maybe no much harm done.

maybe strong stuff had a point you should of put more long dog in them and then come on here saying look at these aint they great!! but theres enough pups in the world already.

I kind of admire that in the aussies. They are more up for accepting a x aslong as it does the job.

6 litters a year  feck me!

Cheers for the advice mate ;)

pmsl! Ill have you know my labs not fat and he catches live birds! lol! He has been used more for the work we do with our lurchers than he has a gun dog so its only expected that he's sometimes a bit shall we say 'unsteady' when it comes to the beating line! But we have bred these to suit us and it just so happens that it is what a FEW other people want too. We know these are never ever going to be the replacement of the bull x and we still keep our bull crosses, its just something we wanted to try and in a few years we will have 1/4 lab depending on how these go. I'll just say it agian, i used the lab so that i didnt lose the size and the power of the bull x but gained a bit of brain amongst other traits.

Listen mate i dont breed 'so many litters a year' i have in total bred 2 litters of my own dogs, thats it. and i have tried to get the dog back, now i know he is selling it it will be coming back to me, im getting on the blower to john. We took owen for how we found him, he looked after his 2 staffies he had when we knew him and so we agreed to sell him the dog but after speaking to people on here we have found alot out and are really gutted. this is the dog when we had him and im really pissed off with him if its as bad as you say it is. You can never be 100% but we do our best by our dogs and this is the first one that obviously doesnt have a good home and now we know he is selling him we will be collecting it. Thanks for informing me of the situation but i wish someone would tell me before it got that bad. And i was joking when i posted my previous statement i wasnt trying to piss you off at all. Im sorry if ive offended you
