Pops 19
he's coming on 4. i've had him on hogs, he's caught one deer out west. i think he'd be a better dog if i hadn't gone to iraq 3 times. his run up is horrible & he's dumb as a post but he's got a good lovable nature so he stays. Pops 19
thanks all. i am sure he'd have been a better dog in the hands of a real lurcherman. we were calling it a day after some failed runs due to the heavy cover in the coastal swamps of North Carolina. as i was calling him to load into the truck i saw a grey & black blur dart past about 10 yds in front of the truck. almost simultaneously Sonic rocketed past me. i got around the truck just in time to see him shake & release the fox where he'd caught her across her shoulders. he immediately grabbed the fox around the back of the head. between the shaking &gnawing he finished her off. he hit her pretty hard. i was going to use the front & hind quarters for russian fox stew but everything was bruised and broken so bad it wasn't worth the effort (some time constraints also). i did take some meat for his meal. i am learning so much from the goofball. i may even be able to train up a fair dog the next time around.
