sue 1
as said before 2 is best ,i have 26 all outside in large sheds ,if kept clean they wont smell but with all animals they all have their own scent ,as for looking after them give them somewhere warm and draft free if possible as much room as you can ,and give fresh meat and water daily and plenty of handling ,read up on the internet or get a few books from the library Quote Link to post

Ferrets love companionship mate so i would say minimum of 2. ferrets smell its just the way they are but with regular cleaning (ie every day) their hutches will not stink but if you neglect the cleaning they can start smelling stronger. I take it you are thinking of getting ferrets? Quote Link to post

If you havent got the time to clean them every day fella then dont bother getting ferrets. They can be fed on dry although meat is best but with meat especially in the summer it has to be removed daily. My advice to you is to read as much as you can and to ask as many questions as you want and after a few months then make your decision whether you have the time and inclination for ferrets. There a quite a few knowledable people on this forum who are only too willing too help. Quote Link to post
