What amazes me is the people sicking a spanner in the works are the ones with nothing entered. LDR you shouldn't need to justify any decisions you make to people who are not involved. If you sort it with wh and mb thats the last of it in my eyes. You took the plunge and set the wheels in motion, do as you see fit and if the competitors are happy well who can complain ?

i think your running the comp well and surely if mark and w.h come to an aggreement its no odds to any one else if its was as cut a dry as some would like were the element of fun be. l.d.r is trying not to go on a power trip but to merely keep it fair which he has by giveing m.b the option of taking a bye or giveing world hunters a few more days, who wants a poxy bye anyway,personal oppinion it will be resolved by them running each other,

OK I've had a bit to do with competitions pre ban if MB is given a bye he should still have to run(although by being a bye he cant loose) otherwise hes had less work to do than his oponent in the next round and MB giving WH time is very sporting but whoever gets through to the semis may have to run with in days of completing this round so that both finalists have equal recovery time and under coursing rules a dog can not progress on consecutive bye's

mark will give storm time to heal to run the heat and i am sure WH would do the exact same thing if cat was injured

It's all about fun and seeing other dogs work. What pleasure could anyone have in getting a bye?

 

Allthough, the rules say if your dog is injured and cant run the other dog goes through.

 

My personal opinion is Mark needs to decide. I would not think any less of him for taking the tie as there is the next round to think of. However, if it were me I would re arrange it for the last week in Jan. If storm cant run by then a bye is fair enough.

Lee, this isn't the Waterloo Cup, being run over three days !! It's being run over four months ! It's now smack bang in the middle of the season, so why talk about "equal rcovery time" ? I'm sure all the dogs in the comp are doing the same lamping as normal, and the comp should be like any other night, my two heats were !! Also it's not being run under Coursing Rules, it's being run under rules agreed to by the entrants; and the only people complaining or wanting rules changed or added are people who didn't even enter !!! It's the first time this comp has been run, and it will be smoother next time, but I can't see any major problems with this one !!

So far i'm the only one through from the second heats, tomo and scouser are gonna run, lamp+battery and fieldmarshal are gonna run and W.H and mark, fieldy works off shore so its being run early jan, mark and W.H is as everyone knows it and tomo and scouser will do it when they get the time sorted between them.......... the final would've been the end of feb anyway as the moon is up most of that month, and if its in march, its no big deal, i've had 70 off some of the land in march so its not really a problem mate!!!!

It was meant to be a comp between like minded lads, and yes, Scouser had his concerns, but they were addressed, and hopefully accepted. As for MB, well, if everyone bent over backwards to accomodate him, he would still find some thing to shout about !! MY moan is that there are so many people telling us how it should be run, but didn't have the minerals to enter in the first place !!! I have enjoyed the hosting of other competitors and running my heats FAR more than I have enjoyed reading some of the crap that has been written about the comp, usually by people who don't have a clue as to what has actualy happened !!! I'm out of it now, but will have no hesitation about entering next year !!
