best dry food for my saluki coursing bitch

Recommended Posts

Our dobe is mainly raw fed but on occasions I have to be inventive when we are travelling in a small campervan. We trialled her on the ORIJEN after I spent a long time researching alternatives and from our experience ORIJEN is great! She loved it and so do the foster dogs that we take.

You need LESS than you think compared to standard kibble, and we worked out that one bag lasts as long as the alternatives. It took a little trial and error to get the right amount for the dobes we had, but it was brilliant. If you add water it does not bulk out so less risk of bloat etc, as no grains in it and the poo is almost the same as when raw fed...little nuggets. We tried both fish and the ordinary one and the dobes loved them both.

Zooplus is a brilliant online shop- they also do joblot of pizzles....which they adore too!

I find Gain Greyhound 28 good. But alos feed raw, not together, but seperate. Raw every other day, rabbits, hares, venison, lamb breast, veg ect.

Frank.

Don't you find it gives them the shits swapping over each day Frank.

I mix James Wellbeloved with raw mined tripe and chicken, i know some say it's not good to do but i really don't believe it.

I give mine raw chicken wings from Tescos too on most days.

Hippychick how do your dogs go on it taste wise, i see it is cheaper than James W so might change, just my collie grey is a bit fussy.

Frank that review was written by a barf snob, i think it's not really that dried in particular she was prattling on about.

Why is it people get all superior when they stop feeding dried food, i can only guess it is because they hate seeing people with perfectly healthy dogs who only need to scoop food from a bag.

Saying that i think raw meat is better but everbody to there own.
