to be totally honest with u mate it just seemed a bit easier for me to work it out in 5 mins! I wasnt brave enough to do what my law did and say 2 mins because people would have probably turned around and said 2 me my dog can catch a rabbit in 1.5 seconds etc etc you know what this forum is like with some people.

i find that where the rabbits are in numbers ie ;50's 60's in each field...... then the keepers are not far behind you ;)

100 in one night, one dog? Its a hard task, but it has been done

Done 15 years or so ago, up in Scotland on estates with permission, large fields 30 plus rabbits in each field, we always carried 3-4 17amph batteries, three of us often took 150 a night, couldn't do it now, rabbit population vastly reduced.

i think we all agree that land with that many rabbits on it are heavly keeperd i dont think you would get 20 mins on ground like that never mind a few hours trust
go the night after they have had a big phesant shoot ,he will be tucked up in bed . ;)

I just quickly off the top of my head checked my maths, if im wrong please correct me but lets say it takes 5 minutes average to spot the rabbit on the lamp, slip the dog, dog chases it, catches it and brings it back to the lamper, now ive worked it out 5 mins for one rabbit this so called super dog would have to run constantly for 8 hours and 20minutes to get 100 rabbits, without taking 1 second for a break, and thats without all the ones it misses and travelling from field to field! Can I ask what battery are you using? Is it a generator or are you using an extension lead from your house? If anybody on here could take me to a place and catch 90 rabbits in 1 night with a dog I will give you £1500 as long as I can take a camcorder with me!

Also the people who are catching 60, 70 and 80 rabbits a night could you put some pics of your dogs up so I can see what condition their in because they must be some fit looking dog if they are catching that many in 1 night.

1 dog 100 rabbits ha ha ha :clapper:

I said; "60, 70, 80's with a COUPLE of dogs" !! Yes the dogs ARE very fit, and the pics are on here and other sites.

Cheers.

If i go back mmmmmmmmmm bout 23 years ago? I didnt have any lurchers, but my brother in law and his mate davy and another lad, whose name escapes me,had a couple of lurchers,i can only remember one of the dogs was called 'blue'.

Anyway we had a do round chirnside and the fields were lifting, never seen nowt like it to this day, them 2 dogs took near enough a hundred but to be honest ive been back up that way and not seen nowhere near as many the amount we seen that night. That night and that dog,'blue' was what got me into the dogs, amazing dog. But theres just not the numbers these days man.

Purely pest control a proviso of getting the permission, big bags in those days were the order of the day.
