The type of dimmer switch Deben uses does make the battery last longer, it also improves lamp life and also gives you much more versatility...always turn the lamp on at low and increase as required...saves terrifying close quarry...can also confuse them with distance....turn the lamp down as you get closer and the quarry gets confused and doesn't know you have moved..use it a very low level to check your footing....also saves destroying your own eye night vision...the advantages go on!

The dimmer switch is available seperately...about £32 I think....down to the individual/land/requirements...all I can say is mine have dimmer switches and everyone I know who has, or has upgraded to one would never go back to a conventional on/off switch!

And that is nothing to do with Deben...whatever lamp you get..it needs a dimmer!!! (unless its a Logon or Stinger or Atom..... then all you will ever want is MORE light :whistling: )

i got mine a while back for the .22mag.... its very good but i think the tracer max pro with the dimmer switch might have been as equally as good a buy??

The logun lamps are around £40-£70 depends how new or good condition you get them.

I got mine for £60 second hand but looks brand new, it hasnt got a very long beam but it blasts light everywhere.

Should be called a Logun floodlamp.

The battery lasts for atleast 3 hours when fully charged. Overall i think its good for the money your paying.

saying they need a pro, i dont think thats right i dont want a big argument but i have just got a atom tracer? and its perfect for use with a air gun at 12ft

Each to their own chap and I would completely agree that you do not need a dimmer switch with the ATOM...you will never need to turn that down!!
