started off on the furthest part of this small farm, its all tussocky grassland

had a quick 7 out of a few small sets (as you can see the stick comes in uselful...it carried 11 at one point today)

topped up to 11 rabbits in the next small warren

then moved to the next field and a busy looking little 4 holer...netted up ferret in and rabbit out :D

where's the ferret?

put the other ferret in to see if that shook things up...no ....waited til i couldn't any more then locator out.......5 feet :yahoo:

and the rabbit was still alive and between the two ferrets when i got down......as you can see it looks like a grave! :laughbounce2:

so with 13 rabbits i thought i will call it a day as i dont like digging and was shattered after digging the trench with a small fold up german army spade :pardon:

anyway walked back to the farm yard and spotted a couple of small warrens at the side of the farm track.....dropped the stuff in the car and went back with just the ferrets and 12 nets....3 rabbits and back into the car!

so with 16 rabbits came home...my missus made me a large roast dinner :yahoo:

end of day shot in the farm yard

Looks like a good day out

i had a very similar experience with one of those folding shovels, it inspired me to get something better! i got one of the micro shovels from screwfix, less than a tenner but worth much more! its made a big difference to me, digging is no longer a last resort and that has improved the bag quite a bit some days! :D

i normally carry a trenching spade......but fancied travelling light!

I have seen and used one of those screwfix spades....Oldblueeye or OBE (i think he is on here but dont know which name he uses?) has one, i joked about how the locator reading was in spade depths which is the same as feet ;)

To be honest my german army folding spade (which is always in my car anyway) was useful enough....and you can set the spade head at a right angle to use it as a scoop as you get deeper, it also has a small pick on the back of the spade head...in fact it was as useful as OBE's spoon sized screwfix jobby......i wasn't moaning about teh spade...more the fact that it would have taken a couple of scoops with the trenching spade, and as it was sand it kept falling in....then after 3 feet of sand i hit the clay :(

I have had and used a british army folding spade and that was crap
