Guest hyperion
got up yesterday mornin at silly oclock to get to the farm for day break to have a crack at the pigeons and maybe ambush a few crows! any way by the time it got to first light i was almost crying with the cold and the crows that normally use the stand of trees i was in had decided to move some where warmer rather than give me the chance of a shot! so after a little walk round to warm up i settled down to wait for the pigeons, sure enough within twenty minutes the first groups of birds were dropping into the trees further up the field and pretty soon i was lining up the cross hairs on my first pigeon of the day as a party of five dropped into the trees infront of me! squeeze the trigger and WHACK down he goes to a clean head shot! so now im feeling pretty good with my one shot one kill start to the day, untill i missed the next five in a row! after missing the sixth pigeon i decided to have a zero check, line up a clod of earth squeeze the trigger, the gun goes off but there is no pellet strike! when i checked the magazine its still reading ten but i know ive fired seven shots! when i pulled the mag out to see whats going on i found a bit of twig wedged inbetween the magazine body and the rotary drum of the mag! next time ill use a torch when i load up in the dark! by now it was getting on for ten and i was freezing so i called it a day and headed for home! just to show how cold it was! when i got home i decided that the bird id frozen my bits off to shoot shold help warm me up again! so with the two from the other day! i went from this to this then into the pan onto the plate and into my belly! its always nice when some one else does the washing up! cheers hyperion Quote Link to post
