labsnlurchers 39
3 men stay at a b&b. The owner says that it will cost £30 for the room. So each person pays the owner £10 and go to the room. After a few minutes the owner realises that he has overcharged and it should have been £25. He gives the maid 5x£1 coins and tells her to take them up to the room. On her way she says to herself just give them £3 back, which is £1 each. She pockets £2 for herself. So each bloke has now paid £9 and the maid has £2 so thats 3x9=27 +2=29 SO WHERE THE FECK IS THE OTHER £1 GONE?
SportingShooter 0
I'm confused £25 for the room. £5 is taken with the maid. £2 is put in her pocket, £3 is given back to the lads. Makes £30?

Makes £30? Yes but when you add it up the way in the post it doesnt work, each bloke pays £10 and then gets £1 back so each bloke had payed £9, there are 3 blokes which makes £27 paid in the end, the maid had 2 so wheres the other one? Netter 0
It is only the way it is written £25 in the till £2 in the maids skyrocket £3 paid back to the blokes = £

Each bloke pays £10, gets £1 back which means each payed £9 yes? 3x9=27 yes? the maid has £2 and 27 add 2 is 29 so where the feck is the other £1? how can it work one way but not the other? T78 4
its to do with the 3 x 9 =27 bit...if the maid gave them £1 back that somehow makes it only £8 they'd paid before?and 3 x 8 = 24?! feck it,its too late to be thinking this hard!!
biffo 0
quite simply the men didnt pay £9 each, they paid £9.3333r each
T78 4
quite simply the men didnt pay £9 each, they paid £9.3333r each was just thinking along those lines but surely it would be £8.3333r? 3 x 8.3 =24.99999r(£25 for the room)? £3 change and £2 snaffled by the maid...equals £30?
