Might have a go myself during the summer when there is nothing to do, I suppose it is a good feeling to work with your own made nets. (until the old man leaves them on the holes!)

once you have learnt how to do it, its like tyeing shoe lases you never forget i started not so long ago and have made around 30 good nets, so i just thought id get some use of my new camera and show you the nets i think its spun nylon nylon and polished hemp ....

hi mate, have only been making nets for a short while, each one you do you learn a little bit more. and also get faster i can do a 15by24(2 inch board) long in about 50 minutes. keep with it mate you'll get there

I have recently started making nets using spun polyester.

Everything goes fine till I get to attaching the bottom ring. The bottom ring always looks a mess compared to the top ring, which looks all pro and neat.

Any tips guys.

are you doing it the same way as in the tutorial on here mare? if so i found my first couple of nets had a "slack ring" but then i found when i was doing the ring just make sure that i was pulling every knot and keeping tention in the net as tight as i could, i was also keeping the knot as tigh to the ring as i could when i was tightening the knot. so now they are a lot tighter and look better

Found a better way than I was doing it.

Going down through the ring and back up through the loop twice, then doing a knot including one of the strings from the previous loop.

Seems to hold the knots together and grips the ring well.

i watched the video again and ive cracked it i did a foot of net and stopped as i wasnt using the right stuff , does anyone know where a could find some rings to practice on or have dimensions for sliders as i could make them?
