dangergirl 13
my 7 month old pup was wormed on boxing day and all was well, on the 27th he cut one of his toes with barbed wire(to the bone), so i cleaned it with neat TCP(wound healing well). He was very quite in the house on the 27 but fine out walking, gave him 1/3rd lamb breast which he scoffed down. He had not touched biscuits thoroughout the day. At about 20.00 on the 27th he vomited. he was looking a bit sorry for himself. When i saw him the next am there was patches of vomit everwhere, let him outside and he had the shits. Look like he had lost all condition overnight, tucked up and greasy coat, his vertebrae was; for the first time visible. He was not intersed in eating or drinking. Managed to syringe him 250 mls of water and he purked up. i witheld food for 12 hours Now today is the 29. I spoke to the vet yesterday, and he said i had done right thing and just keep an eye on him. There has been no more vomiting and no more squits since 28th am. but he is still not really interested in eating his usuall compleate mix. He has had a tin of mackrel and some off cuts of beef, wont touch pasta i made for him. Im geussing hes getting better as hes keen enogh to chase/play with the outher dogs outside, i just think hes been hit hard by something and it will take a while to recover. Is there anything esle you think i should be doing? just want to do the best for him. 2-3 weeks ago now

mick h 181
Thats the best place to take him.Which wormer did you use and what dosage did you give him? Was that the 1st time you've given him breast of lamb, and did you strip the meat from the bone or was the bone attached, as lamb can be very greasy and if the bones were attached it could actually splinter his guts. I would just stick to his complete meal and just give him the odd knuckle bone to chew on now and again. Hope everything goes well has he's a beautiful looking puppy, and a credit to you. mick h 181
i meant to tell you for dehydration in your dog i use diaolytes which you buy for babies, it puts the salts and every thing else back in the body. hope this helps.
Doglost Co-Ordinator 4
Hope he 's ok, some dogs can go downhill & look crappy really quick- made worse when they look sorry for themselves. Done right taking him to vet- if you're not happy. As long as he keeps the fluids up he should be ok. Good luck
dangergirl 13
It was drontal, which hes had before, and he had lamb without the bone. he usually has lamb twice a week. Hes at the vets, staying overnight for observation and iv fluids. They are running test for anti freeze. Thanks for your advice. DG
