clubshot 22
Read on another Board But made me think I often Leave out Shot Rabbits - Killed due to damage done to ground For others to eat But with the growing number of Birds of prey around Never thought that a Lead Pellet could kill or maim them Aware that over the years Lea Valley must have received Tons of Lead into the Ground Has been a Corporate Clay Ground for well over 20 years Is a Filled pit - with report's of plenty of nasty material within the ground Have read that on some Grounds - they have recovered the Shot Lead Aware given as a reason several Sporting Clay grounds was closed As did not want lead in Ground Also aware that Lead Should not enter Water Sources As can kill Birds if they pick it up and breaks down in water Think I will be picking up my Shot Vermin in future BOB/R Quote Link to post

fin and fur 2
Remember years ago - reading of a machine that lifts up soil and removes the Lead But only works on level Ground In report - it lifted several ton a hour from a established Clay Ground BOB/R the shooting ground up on the mendips is visited by a lead reclamation/scrap metal dealer who uses a machine which removes the top soil and sifts it for the lead, i believe that the company used to charge for this service but earlier this year with the spiralling cost of lead were providing this service free gratis Quote Link to post
