More Hedges Less Wind

Recommended Posts

Me and my partner in crime headed back to our freshly accuired permision today and arrived to some nice weather and hardly any wind compared to last weeks gales.

The farmer wanted us to consentrate on the never ending hedge lines around his newly planted crops, so we cracked on were we left off the other week. Theirs a few good spots on this land wear bigger bags could be had easily, but we stuck to the hedges as requested, the easy sets can wait for now.

We thought we'd try the hobs and jills used seperately today, so we started off with the two hobs, nets run out and my mates new hushpower .410 awaiting a christening.

Digging was the job with the hobs in, only one or two bolted but we had a few by spade power, mainly easy 2.5 - 4 foot digs in good soil but had one kill under the compacted stoney farm track that was a biatch to get through the first 6 inches or so.

The second half off the day we used two jills to bolt a few for the gun and into the long nets, and bolt they did, we did'nt have one dig with the jills in, they were hitting the new net like rockets. The hushpower .410 was christned aswell, its a good little gun for ferreting and nice and quiet.

We ended the day with 14 healthy but dead bunnies.

Bit harder dig under the farm track, not that bad tho, especially as I was'nt the one digging the first stoney bit.

End of day shot, rabbits laid out neatly and gear all set out, ready for judging lol.

Naa, quite enjoy the digging Keeps, warms me up a bit.

Think the poor fella you gave me is gonna get the snip soon.

Make sure you don't take him to Wilsons then cos he might get a bit more snipped than you bargained for :icon_eek::laugh:
