went out on another trip, nothing big came on board over 15 but managed to get a few rays, small codling up to 5lb and biggest was a 11lb conger

where do you fish to mate, it was a good trip, plenty of small fish coming on, small rays, small codling and plenty of whiting, onlu problem for me was i was cold and tired, we was on the boat at 8 in the morning and the nite before i had been out clubbing and then came home for 12, then went out lamping at 12.30 until 6.30 in the morning on rats with the airrifle, then jumped on the boat,roll on summer i say, the days when you was catching good cod are well gone, going back 6,7 years ago we was catching plenty of cod up to 12lb in weight on the boat,i have seen it get worse and worse each year, i am happy catching congers, rays, and tope in the summer with a t shirt on and jeans,we are going back out end of january but still not much happening out there

im a bristol channel basher ,the cod get less and less each year ,im with you on the t shirt bit i love fishing the summer nights after conger. had a surprise bass couple seasons ago from aust severn beach over 10lbs theres a picture of it on bristol channel catch reports under[ steve......@....aust ].

thats the only time i go nite fishing now mate is in the summer, like you said, cast 2 rods out and sit there comfortable waiting for a conger, i had myself a 11lb bass a few years back fishing for conger, had a few smaller ones since then but nothing double figures, used to fish cardiff foreshore until they put up the factorys there, to much of a walk for me now, usually black pipe in the summer, car is only 2o yards behind you and always chucks up congers, also porthcawl pier for a bit of fun to use left over bait up, i will see if i can find a photo of the bass, chuck your photos up mate if you still got them, tight lines
