Meerihunter 7
Thanks for all the kind words everyone. Oh Mark I am so sorry the same thing happened to me in May with my deerhound lurcher, he chased a Roe and lost his footing going over a stone wall. I am still gutted and it is so hard to take R.I.P Tariq I was actually just thinking of what happened to your dog when I got home. Quote Link to post
lurchergrrl 1,441
No matter how many times it happens, it never gets easier to bear. Very sorry for your loss. He was a stunning dog. RIP Tariq Quote Link to post

Meerihunter 7
Thats awfull, really sorry to hear that mate.. The exact same thing happened to me back in 92, with a greyhound i had for hunting, she was coursing a hare and as she went down for the strike, she tumbled and broke her neck, i was shocked and gutted, i know how you feel. R.I.P Tarig.. Frank. The amount of cartwheeling/multiple somersaulting full on strikes I've seen from him I feel I could of accepted him going that way alot easier that this freak accident fall. spookster1 24
Thanks for all the kind words everyone. I am still gutted and it is so hard to take R.I.P Tariq I was actually just thinking of what happened to your dog when I got home. I, like you Mark on that day wasn't thinking anything of the dog running, it was a half hearted attempt and a little tumble, I was just about to whistle him back, if only I was a bit quicker. He had the best life with you, take care! A very sad day today my friend lost her Sloughi today too. Quote Link to post
Meerihunter 7
This what I keep thinking, I could of done things differently and I'd still have him here now. What happened to your friends Sloughi? Quote Link to post
reynardhunter 3
I don't really know what to say here as still can't believe what has happened today. I was out with my 3 Salukis and the Bedlinton Terrier when a Roe ran past and Tariq gave chase only to trip and fall in the heather, nothing I've haven't see before in fact I've seen far worse falls from them however Tariq never got back up and there was no noise from him. When I got to him he was totally motionless and limp, he still had a heartbeat but was not breathing and his tongue was blue. I breathed for him for at least 20 minutes before I had to except I had lost him. I'm absolutely devastated and am still trying to get my head round what has happened I can only think he must of broke his neck. gutted for you mate, cant say much more Quote Link to post
