An enspired hunt

Recommended Posts

Two nights ago i was up reading my air gun magazine and was reading an article on tree rat shooting them and stalking them properly and all i ever do for them is walk around the woods hoping to starle them and watch the run and wait for them to stop for a second them pop it. but i thought i woul get up early and put all my camo gear on and get stalking. So alarm went had a little grub got all my kit on and set off my local permission isnt far so walked there looked like a plonk in the camo walking the streets but it was half 7 so no one was up got to the permission about quater to 8 walked the wood found nothing searched high and low.

Finally spotted a lazy squirel sleeping high up in the trees about 5 yards away didnt want to stratle him so walked as slowly as i could and perched myself behind a tree from cover crept round the tree took to shots at him and i was shooting really high so slowly creeped off and zeroed in to 30 yards well i re stalked him and "THWACK" shot him in the head he fell straight from the top sorted on bagged and i really liked that because the stalk payed off and could take my time taking the shot.

here is a picture of him sleeping and the end result.

Well after this i wanderd on through the woods and there they were a little gang of squirells having a mess around i slowly crept up to them and 1 spotted my gun move and bolted the other two stayd there so waiter for them to look away and placed a shot right in between its eyes seccesful stalk number two.

Stalk number three well i seen a Drey with a little bit of activity so i found the nearest bit of cover and it happend to be a holly bush so i thought it would work so made a little gap and waited for the prefect shot while i was having free acupuncher of a holly bus one came out the thick of the tree and scrached his balls so i took him out watched him drop and heared a "Splash" it landed in the b*****d river and by the time i had a chance to it get it it had floated into property which i wasnt aloud in there so left it go it was a clean shot so i knew it wouldnt suffer :).

well i took a walk up the mountain and went throughtr the forestry i got to a thick wooded area and heared a jay bloody making a racket so i stayed still waiting for it to come closer if it did and perfect landed right above me so i braught the gun up slowly and then again "thwack" dropped the jay i know they are a pretty bird but a pain in the arse and i can make some cracking flies out of thier wings.

i ventured futher into the woods and i spotted something moving a squirrel 80 yards away so there i was all cammoed up slowly crept towards it got to about 30 yards there was no tree or nothing to get a good steady shot so i thought stuff it piped up and stood up and done it i didnt even quiver and "THWACK" down he goes it didnt even see it coming.

My next one was a good stalk i watched him for about 20 minutes for the perfect shot i spoted it sitting on a thick branch it couldnt see me i could see his tail in the wind so sat there waited for a bit done a few squeeks couldnt get him to look after 20 mins i snapped the branch and straight away he looked down i slowly braught the gun up and took another standing shot "THWACK" down he goes well where i shot him too was in a spot i planed some snares a year back when he dropped he was upside down i seen some yellowy coloured Goo or something had a look and by the looks of thing it ha been caught in a snare and was wrapped round where his balls would of been and it hd chopped them off and i lookeed cloesly and it was one of my snares he had chewed straight throught the wire and i am the only person who would of used this wire because i had it from america and it was wire trace for big sea game and only one other person has permission on mine and i know it wasnt his he used gold ones. so i put it out of its missery.

Well i will post the picture of me and my kills and me in camo to show thet couldnt see me coming hahaha !

Hope you enjoyed the read Adam :gunsmilie:
