You'd think every Saluki was a world beater just cos it's a saluki!!! I've seen some really good saluki's and I've seen some duffers, just like any breed. But to say only a Saluki could catch a winter hare on the fens and actually believe it, well......  Quote Link to post

dankay123 33
I'm not saying the Saluki isn't the best for that barron terrain..... but to say it's the only type of dog that will kill a January hare there is a little far fetched...... ok a few hares will be killed by other types but the salukiand saluki xs have the stamina to do 3and 5s not many other dogs can keep the pace up i owned a whippet greyhound bitch that used to do 4's regular around cheshire. she was the only bitch to catch in lincolnshire when we went up there f****d all the salukis and caught 3 in lincolnshire and i have plenty of lads to back up my statement my mates all run salukis crosses now and i have had them but prefer the whippet greyhounds my opinion. PS WHO WROTE THAT SHITE IN THAT CLIPPING ??? ALL COLLIE CROSSES ARE QUITTERS I THINK YOUR UP IT MATE Edited December 28, 2008 by dankay123 Quote Link to post
stevemac 443
Well I own a saluki and a deerhound/greyhound and Ive hunted them on some big open spaces and Im still waiting for the saluki to out do the other dog. Maybe when the other dog is older and slows down a bit. stevemac Quote Link to post
