what do the dog folk think of them as a working dog, posted in my last post about gettin one,

Great dogs, had a racer x courser no show lines whippet few years ago, brilliant bitch.

I had more injuries with the lurchers than with the whippet.

Dynamic, bit loony at times, have a bitch now from matt slevins lines.

Coming on grand, bit too ballsy.Luv em would'nt be without one.

great little dogs mate if you get the right lines hard as nails and game enough to tackle things bigger and heavier than themselves i also think its easier getting your foot in the door when asking farmer/landowner for permission when youve got what looks like a cute little whippet on lead rarther than a 26 inch plus yeti looking thing with you ;)

there a great breed,,,,i race mine but in winter give mine a chase when the oppurtunitie a rises,,,,,,,one small problem if u keep them in house like i do  ,,,,they follow u every where  and ur wife will love them as they always cuddle up at night,, ;)

having said that they can be very hardy,,,can take a tumble or two,,,,,,but watch for badwire fences,,,make sure u train them to jump fences rather than run thruw,,,,

but having said that,,,,if it just hunting ur needing,,,,working stock,,pups on hunting life will be best  ,,,,,,but if ur looking for hunting but racing in summer B.W.R.A whippet would be best which you would find on k9 community web page,,

,,,ive also noticed there,s a few guys on here that have got ped whippets that look really good at there job aswell

basically u have roughly 4 types of whippets //// working stock,,,pedigree,,,BWRA ,,,and whippets that have lurcher cross i,e beddy,,,, i would say if u think u will race i.e lurcher or whippet racing and hunting,,,,a 32lber or 28lber,,,,21inch to 23inch woulb be adeal

hope this helps you,,,,but whippets do tear too easily watch out for that dreaded badwire :thumbs:
