I WAS CATCHING THEM WITH A LURCHER OVER 25 YRS AGO .............

HAD WELL OVER A HUNDRED AND FIFTY IN 4 YRS ,

ALL SOLD ON TO A NIGERIAN DOCTOR OR A FAMILY OF SIKHS WHO BOUGHT ALL I COULD GET AS WELL AS BUYING EVERY BILLY THEY COULD GET THEIR HANDS ON ..

MONEY WAS TIGHT IN THEM DAYS AND WHEN IT WASNT ..........I STOPPED ... THERES NO SPORT IN IT

caut a few with colli lurcher and a big alsaitio cross there a few not to far away escapees not fast but can run on some shitty land ,alot of small holdings goats have escaped and you find the odd one about

Seen quite a few up the cheviots and that area,not much of a challenge for a good dog i wouldnt of thought. plenty of kebeb meat though

what sort of feral goats are they? We have alot of feral goats here and have run them quite a bit. Not a challenge kinda like catching slightly wild sheep. Old stag I had would meet a mob and grab one on the back of the head/neck and hold, once you got hold or shot/stuck it he would take off and grab another, would get 4 or 5 this way in the end would put him on the lead before getting him off the last goat as he would keep going and catching. Some of the bigger billies would have a go with their horns but they arent sharp and havent got alot of impact behind them

Didnt get any pics of him back then but have got a couple from later on..

this one doesnt look real big in the pic but once gutted he still took 2 of us struggling to get him in the vehicle, the big billies on average go about 40-45kg dressed

LOL,... ohhh aye.......... feral goats, cows, the odd camel....... when times were hard you had to make do with what you could get.... it was them or you..... :piggy: Please tell me this wasn't in a book?

yep, my mate slipped his 3/4 bullcross on what he thought was a roe

and it was a goat, so it can happen,

total accident though

Anyways, the ones around mine look most similar to the goat in your first pic hairy bull! And similar sizes aswell, see the odd light one, but mainly dark with lighter patches.
