Hunts flushing fox to birds of prey?

Kin ell,what size bird do they use to take a fox???????

 

I was wondering that to?

african eagle owl, a mate had one as a pet, it excaped and ate someones cat...................it was briliant........huge thing it was they may still have it i aint been up there for ages

I have owned a european eagle owl many are kept imprinted to make them placid my female was untouched for two years and her owner was frightened of her but I got her and manned her up and she never realy took to being handled bt would just about put up with it I have been bit by a pit bull and have been footed by my owl and I tell you now the presure in the tallons was more than the dog bite by a hell of a lot and there is no doubt in my mind that one of these birds would take and kill a fox with no real injury birds of prey arnt thick and know what they can eat while alive and [bANNED TEXT] they carnt my harris hawk would eat rabbit while still kicking but wouldnt touch a squirell till it was stone dead.

 

 

and that just an egal owl law you can come to the cz next year if you like or even another meet in europ to see egals take fox they are the same fox but speak cz

 

same egal most are imprint and are very good size bird

 

 

 

never under estamate the power of a falcon or hawk a dog grabs a deer the deer can shake it off the egale gets it game over

i am now geting rid of my dog and geting one of those ,sound like i will always have money in my pocket and food in the freezer ,and all above board .

im no expert by any means a friend of mine has hawks,falcons and an eagle dont know what type but its a scary looking thing he told me a while back that everything they catch is grabbed by the head ,must admit though those you tube vids were impressive but i always think it would be a complete worry if fox did get a bite on it you would think a fox could kill it with a bite easily,

then theres the cost of replacing an eagle ,dont know how much that would be???

if you've ever seen these things in action you would understand that they CAN and DO kill foxes with ease, but as with everything in life it doesnt always go to plan and im dam sure i wouldnt want any eagle that i paid a pretty penny for having a scrap with a fox.

i know of a hunt that used to take two eagle owls out with them when they went hunting to get over the law thank god they never got stopped as one owl only had one leg and the other was almost blind

this just about sums it all up ,first one a dead draged fox then it showes a fox on a rocky mountain but the eagle catching a fox that has its back leg broken [i wonder how ]on a flat plain .

There is at least one hunt I know of that use the BOP exemption. They use a golden eagle and they will easily take a fully grown fox.

 

I don't know much about birds of prey or the exemption in the hunting act as the hunt I follow trail hunt but there are certain limitations and only certain birds are allowed to be used, the bird in question has to be proven to be able to take a fully grown fox for a start.

 

The full hunting act is available on the net if you google it.

 

Tyla, if I remember tomorrow i'll show you some pics of the hunt that use an eagle, well worth a day with them if you can get it I reckon. I've only seen the bird at the festival of hunting, not seen it working.

like i say on the very odd ocasion ,perhaps but they cant do it on a regular basis ,if they do then all i ask is PROOF ,and why is it people keep saying they can but have not seen it or got proof .eagles can grab a hold but they do not have the knowledge how to kill a fox most of the time.
