Polkey 70
Im planning on getting a pup in Febuary and it will be my first working dog, I intend on having a lurcher and a terrier eventualy but i do not know which to get first as I only whant to be bringing one dog on at a time. I know which types I want but just not sure what first, seems to be a lot of people on here with both so thought I would ask what you thought. Merry Xmas, Cheers

Polkey 70
why not get both at the same time? get a pup from jrtx greyhounds litter Intresting, but would rather have one of each, would like a JRT or JRT cross but not with a gryhound and as far as lurchers go im not sure what would be best for the area i live in but im sure that plenty lads and lasses on here living in North East could advise me on that one. Guest hyperion
Its much easier to train a dog when you only have one. Terriers can be willfull little tinkers, so i would get the terrier first. Then the lurchers training will seem like a dream after the terrier I presume the terrier will be used for bushing for the lurcher? So another reason to get the terrier first, you want the lurcher pup to follow the terrier, not the other way around. If you can get the terrier 100% it will make life so much easier bugger! Can see the sense in what your saying and yes terrier would be used to bush for lurcher.
