craftycarper 0
Well it's taken a while but she had her first rabbit today. Got out just after 1pm with one of the ferts and i didn't think it was gonna happen as i had my first dig of the year typical ain't it, around 2pm theres me digging and thinking i ain't gonna have enough light left as the next stop was some woods. Entered the wood and straight away sawa a rabbit bolt into a hole, great just a small 4 holer. Bird on the fist and fert down the whole and after a couple of minutes...bang out it flew and so did she straight on it. Well pleased....fed her up on it, then called it a day Quote Link to post

craftycarper 0
well had her out yesterday for the first time with a couple of friends and another fhh, onto some fairly open land with the fert. Didn't really go according to plan though. Firstly ended up with two digs . She had two flights that she missed, the first she went after but the twat with my mate decided to let his bird off as mine gave chase which ended with his bird taking the rabbit and mine left sitting in a small hawthorne bush refusing to come down to the fist even when i offered a doc she kept looking at the other bird and the food in my hand, i think it was going through her mind that the other bird was going to rob it again so was reluctant to come down. After getting her down we moved along and sent the other guy off with his bird while we concentrated on flushing one for mine which we did but it was a half hearted flight which resulted on her chasing then giving up and flying up and back to us. I learnt a valuable lesson today which although my friend reckons that she probably needs another oz taking off of her i tend to disagree. I have had no problems with her out on my own returning to the fist and she has nailed two rabbits albiet they were very easy short flights, but yesterday she seemed to be in a different frame of mind once the twat let his bird take her flight, basically i think it knocked her confidence & mine. Gonna let her have more flights/ kills, just the two of us to get her confidence up before i start taking up invitations from friends again in the near future. Quote Link to post
