How much would you guys be willing to pay, for a week, staying in a log cabin, 3 hot meals served to you each day, digging fox, american badger and raccoons with terriers,...coursing jack rabbits (american hare) on the snow strewn high praire of Wyoming with Staghounds and Saluki hybrids....driving in a rig across fields that would make the fens seem like paddocks, and watching american staghounds, course catch and kill coyotes...or maybe riding out on american mustang horses, with a few long dogs trotting beside you, not knowing what the catch maybe!?...rabbit, hare, fox, coyote, badger etc... Maybe fly into the Mid-West, hunt the terriers on coon, possom etc, then road trip to the high desert of Wyoming?... Just curious on your thoughts? Thanks in advance! Kye.. More in the running dogs than the digging and particularly in running dogs from horse back, its something my missus has always wanted to do. Any idea of the costs? Kye 77 Posted December 24, 2008 Author Report Share Posted December 24, 2008 Its summat me and the wife are thinking about doing to be honest,...we could taylor make the trips etc...if you are into coursing, i wouldnt want to take you digging for most of the trip!..lol...just like if you like your earth dogs, you 'aint gonna wanna see the big dogs go!...we could preaty much cater for what the people/guests are into...more or less of what people wanted, or just the sighthounds, or just the terriers etc...we had the thought after RatKillah from this site came for three weeks, and we took 101 head of game when he was here...and that included the works, from voles, through to fox, badger and coyote, to bigger things...with terriers, pistols, knife, air rifles, running dogs, you name it!..lol. Kye 77 Posted December 24, 2008 Author Report Share Posted December 24, 2008 Its nothing more than a 'idea' at the moment guys!...we are just looking into it,...if it seems like we could do it, and make enough money doing it, then yeah, we will more than likly have a crack at it, and give it a go... So, how much would you guys pay?.. Seven days, 3 hot meals a day, in a log type cabin?...nothing super fancy mind you, but it would be cosy and warm, you would be well fed, have a warm bed, and a shower... Coursing hares, chasing coyotes, maybe some digging, some lamping...a little shooting maybe...some mooching...hunting with sighthounds, while sat on the back of an american mustang horse...just proper, good old fashioned "pioneer" style dog work!..lol. Obvioulsy price of flights would vary on how far in advance you would book etc,...so what do you guys think would be a FAIR price?...NOT including flight fee's, JUST the trip in itself?... The thought came to me, because as an Englishman, i had read books as a youngster, and seen the pictures and read the storys...i never thought i would get to see such things, let alone LIVE it!...and it realy IS that good!...i think a trip like the one i think we could put together for people, would be a trip of a life time!... It would have to be enough that me and my wife could support ourselfs IF we had enough takers, and im sure it would be a labour-of-love type of deal for a few years atleast!...but you never know, if you dont try eh!?...im not wanting to get rich of this idea...but the thing is more than anything, the thought of some of the looks on people faces from back home!...man, that would be worth it!...lol. k9delboy 138 Posted December 25, 2008 Report Share Posted December 25, 2008 (edited) I hunt in Georgia with the Midland hunt twice a year for coyote, red an gray fox an also hunt with cathounds for bobcat. Been out for White tails with huge bull crosses which is very exciting to say the least. Then out at night for racoons. I love it. I'm away to Miami in Feb 09 for a fortnight to hunt with West palm beach and Windy hollows hunt joint meet. Also goin to the Everglades. Flights are approx £350 from Edinburgh to Atlanta and car hire is approx £40 per day for a decent 4x4 jeep. I love to tour about North America and shop at Wallmart and bass pro shops for hunting gear etc. I'm also up for taking anyone with me on my trips if anyone up for it. Motels range from $40 to $120 per night for a room. I would be up for one of your trips for sure. I would be willing to pay say $150 per day so long as you would be happy with this. If you get 3 people then x this by 3. Would that be a fair price ?. Do not wish to offend as i am not sure of prices but i'm starting the ball rolling. P.S. food is brill too.
