tote 854
Not eating before exercise causes cramp and stiches for humans and i have been told it is the same for working dogs. So if you want the best out of your dog i would feed it a tin of dog food about an hour before it goes out lamping/ferreting. C,mon mate, you're either comming the c t or know feck all about dogs. I'll let you tell us which it is.

Is there need to be like that, Just saying what a old lurcher worker from my village told me, i asked him the same question and he told me to feed them an hour before working with a light food. chartpolski 23,116
Yeah mate, sorry to be sarcastic; but don't believe what old timers tell you, and don't repeat it on here, just makes you look a prat !! NEVER feed a dog just before going out !! I give mine a half meal in the morning, then, when we get back from a lamping session, she is dried off, brushed down and given the other half of her meal when she has cooled down . Cheers. Guest bezza
Seems to me whippeteer you are getting bullied by those that should know better. It's not a good idea to feed your dog a hour before lamping. Most people feed their dogs a light meal in the morning and then a proper meal when they get back from lamping. Come on lads it's Xmas , no need to wipe the floor with the lad.
