BlueCoyote 0
have got a piece of land at my folks house that i have been trying to get permission to build a log cabin on for years for me and the family to live in.in a rural area and would fit in the area fine but he planners say it is not allowed.laws in uk are crazy when you can rip up old barns and replace with eyesores but you cannot build a wooden home for your family. out here its one house per ten acres..... we were having a hell of a time getting our home set up because of that. the officials told us "You can take a mobile home and attach it to the existing home but you can NOT put it on the acre next to it. no. absolutely not. it looks tacky" so i can attach a HUGE mobile home to tiny green box like house and that will look better eh? Thankfuly when my grandparents bought this land there was a screw up with the deeds (somehow they ended up with two deeds) and that allowed us to get what we want, but DAMN!! what an ordeal. worth it in the end though.... dont have to pay rent or make house payments. the sad thing however is all these laws and rules are enforced by people who dont even live in this town.
