I love Christmas, but can see where you're coming from and good for you for speaking your mind I was on another site the other day and a fellow member said the same as you, but he also added that Christmas will soon be part of our history as the Islamic folk who are now "British" don't celebrate Christmas, so by they way they tend to breed we you won't have to wait that long

Guest JohnGalway
Love the idea of Christmas, the reality is too much effing stress though. This year I told everyone not to get me a thing, not even a card. I'm giving my niece and nephew money each because they'll know what they want better than I will so what's the point in buying them stuff they're not going to use? Last couple of Christmas I've just gone lamping

OldTrapCollector 377
I don't like it either. If it wasn't for my kids then I wouldn't bother at all. Total commercial enterprise and overpriced rubbish. The shops today were like the last day of the world - and for what? The shops are only shut for a day. Moan moan moan . . . OTC

BlueCoyote 0
well religion aside.......... i have to say i have never dealt with any of these issues because i refuse to...... maybe its because i tend to give gifts randomly all year long lol if i see something someone might need then i'll find a way to get it. i've never been all that interested in consumerism either. i hate it that people run around like idiots trying to shop themselves to death for one night of celebration. this time of year i just dont bother with tv and radio.... i have all the classics on DVDs and CDs.. the thing that bothers me most i suppose is that i got married and suddenly have acquired a whole new family... no one i really know either which makes it difficult to buy for. and well... they're all rich and snobby. i dont even want to bother trying to please them. i let my husband decide if he wants to get them anything. my mother in law is easy to please however. just buy her a bag of bird seed, maybe some potting soil and some new gloves for the garden and she's happy. as it is i love this time of year and not just because of the holiday. i like when its cold out. i love it that i have someone to keep me warm. and the best part is i usually get to spend a few days in the woods, camping with my dad and husband. kid free for a whole three days! i LOVE Christmas
