cocker retreving

i got a 3 year old cocker dog witch i trained my self (first time dog) over the last 6 months he has stoped retreving to me.

he does everything i ask when i shoot a rabbit he goes in to bush finds it fetches it out and drops its and sits there lol

any surgestions. :wallbash:

how did you first train him to receive?

Give more information and get a better answer fella :thumbs:

 

At a guess with the little you have gave us i would recommend going back to basic retrieve lessons.

 

If you find the problem gets worse or you cant gain the retrieve drop me a pm as im more than willing to help.

When the dog has flushed the rabbit and is sitting nicely send another dog (if you have one) for the retreive and hopefully the jealousy may encourage him to retreive.

he has 28 ftch and it just come to him in the house he wil retrieve any thing i hide things agound the house and he wil get them all one by one.

 

when im out he just want fetch it back its like a game with him he is very smart got more brains than any one lol.

 

its just over the last 6 months he has started it and today he even did not stop when he got a rabbit up i jsu dont no what to do i have never hit him its all come natural to him
