andy s410c 61
Arrived at Dryburnside for 8:30am with me partner in crime Steve greeted to a very strong westerly wind & fine rain.Took the bigman Potch, small jill & adult jill with us after a good 10 min yomp we arrived at the top of the burn not much signs of life around. We went to the first set & it was flooded out so we moved further down the bank to a 12 or so holer, not flooded so i ran the quickset round it,gave it time to settle,2 ferts in nothing out We moved down to the bottom of the bank to a spread out 15+ holer, ran the qs around the main holes & netted the rest put the hob in,one into the qs As we moved round to the other bottom field"someone" had decided to dig for their fert & not bother to backfill the trench they had left so we took photo's to show the landowner as we were going to take him his Xmas drink today. We ran the qs round a tree root set & placed a few purse nets around the entire length of the bank so all i had to do was move the qs further along as we went.Managed to bag 3 from this part of the bank We left just after 2 pm,went to the farmhouse to wish the landowner a good xmas & told him about the trench left on his land He said he'll be keeping a eye on things up there & he can't recall giving permission up there to anyone except us One of the rabbits had the early stages of myxi & the amount of water up there is going to take a while to drain away so we may have to leave it for a while... Could'nt put too many photo's on as i done them in a higher quality than usual Quote Link to post
will.f11 24
Always a kick in the arse when someone goes on your permission. We had a really nice permission we tend to save up and do once or twice a season and clear all the rabbits. So we went to call on the landowner to say we were out and they said 'only ferret the far side as J**** H***** has been ferreting last weekend and taken in one day' i was so pissed off as was the mate because this chap always manages to ruin our days Quote Link to post
