quickdrawmcgraw 0
Popped into Morrisons today they had two leg of lamb bones 'for stock' 40p. Too good for stock I thought, they'll do for the dog, there was a fair few scraps of meat on them as well. Are they ok to feed raw or do they need cooking?.

terrierman taunton vale 82
yeh feed them raw as dogs cant digest cooked bones mate so you end up of running the risk of bone splinters inpacting in the colon. Cheers Jamie

I wouldnt give leg bones there really hard also when they crack there splinters are like razers very easy for your dog to choke on, lamb knecks ,rib racks are a much safer thing to give just ask your local butcher he will probley give you them regards john

I would let them have them, but keep a close eye on them while they're eating, Don't let them eat any of the long shards that get produced. Our dogs will chew off the softer ends and then break the middle to get at the marrow and then leave the rest. Although if the bits are left around for a while they will go back to them for another go, so it's best to pick em up as soon as they've got out the good stuff. Steve.
