Devo'd............its seems as though my bitch has sustained and very nasty eye injury... didn't even notice this morning.....the whole eye ball is full of blood and has been weeping onto the skin... I ran her last night.... and never heard a peep out of her....

An occupational hazard I know, but I am very concerned.... cant get to see vet until tomorrow, so I hoping an praying she hasn't puncturered her eyeball, but Im not convinced.

I'll let you know what the outcome is.......gutted to say the least :blink::(:(

If it hasn't, get on the directory enquires and find one that has!!! You'll find a vet on a Sunday, might pay a premium for it but surely worth an extra 30% charge.......

Agree with the other statements. Your dog is a sighthound and obviously useless with impaired vision. My whippet hits cover and hedges like it isn't there and he has punctured his eye before. he had to be sedated and operated on although i was lucky that it was at the edge of the white and although he has scarring it had no adverse affect on his vision.

Yours sounds nasty though and i wouldn't hesitate any longer. It might not be that bad but let a closer examination confirm that.

the same has happened recently to our old saluki bitch,we took her to the emercency vets (always happens at the weekend eh!)she had punctured her eye twice quite deeply, apparentlythe eye is the quickest area to come infected she was given drops to keeps the eye open that is very important, antibiotic eye drops and 3 jabs 1 to reduce swelling 1 painkiller and 1 antibiotic this carried on for about 3 half weeks if i was you id get her to the vets asap sight is very important, the vets given ours the all clear but i can tell har vision isnt was it should be
