mattydski 560
Were you told it is the injection pump, rather than the fuel pump? If it is a mechanical fuel pump, and as you say, it can be made to work by manually operating it, could it be the cam lobe that has worn out that drives it, or the cam follower onthe pump. If this is the case, you may be able to bypass the mechanical fuel pump and put an electrical fuel pump in?? If it is the injector pump, Scrap yard maybe a source? Chid 6,509
well first thing i'd be doing before changing pumps is check the fuel pipes from the pump to the tank , make sure one isnt "drawing" air in. can be a pain in the arse to do but could save you £££s if its only down to a little hole causing the problems . hily 379
rig inlet side of lift pump to a can of fuel if runs ok then problem is in fuel line to tank or tank itself used to get corrosion problems with jap vehicles where the fuel pipe was on top of tank and the anti rust coating did'nt reach. pipe holed with rust and sucking air.good luck
