if i had a slot and the cash i would have a 20tac for sure. but only if i was good at reloading becuase to get the best out these caliber rifles you have to reload and be pretty good.

must be nice to have next to no recoil and see the hit on foxes and crows at distance.

There was a chap on here that shot a .20 Tactical and got along very nicely with it too. He upgraded to the .20 Tac from a .17 Rem.

If only I could remember his name :icon_redface:

As with most rounds of this nature, the reloading bench is the only option and if you are going to spend the dosh and have a rifle built to that standard, then you would be terrified at the though of putting common factory rounds through it!

I'm not sure if the .20 Tac is still a Wildcat or a Commercial round now.

From provarmints pics I recon the load is iether the 20Br or 20PPC wildcat!

The guy building it loads all his 22.250 and 22.4000 wildcat rounds.

Have seen him take crows, with either, out to 300yds and foxes beyond this!

As for the rifle weight its a bloody big barrel and not a carbine.

He will also not entertain moderators unless really pushed by customers!

He builds em like bench rifles, will try to get a pic once its finished if he will let me!

Ok..other than the .204 (about as easy to find as rocking horse s***) all these others are "wildcats".

I would be very interested to hear from any users what, and why they have/want/use any of these. I assume you reload so that puts me off straight away. Guns are tools of my trade as well as precision instruments, on top of a selection of air rifles and rimfires and shotguns I run the simple and easy .223, .243 and .308. If I want something particularly flat shooting for longer range I simply use a 40g .223 V-Max, or a 58g .243 V-Max.

I come up against a lot of different situations, land and quarry and have not found any gaps in my hardware collection!

I am genuinly interested to hear why you rate these and what you use them for!!

Cheers

Deker,

I'm sure with the rifles you have in your cabinet you are not finding any gaps, but that isn't to say any of the wildcats couldn't do the job much better. I think it's only human nature to find improvements and to better what the factories have to offer. I reload and get pleasure from developing a round to suit my rifle even though it's a simple .308.

ATB,

PV.

Chap..that is what I am trying to find out...what do you use them for and what do they do much better than what??

I've had enough of my .17HMR, it is of no particular interest or use to me any more as the .22LR and the WMR give me better versatiltity. If anything I have a bit of a gap between the WMR and the .223...the position the Hornet fitted quite well....don't go there...so I'm looking at options. .204 does not float my boat due to price and limited availability.

All credit to anyone who wants to reload but it's not for me, so I take it the rest are non starters in that case.

PS.... I have about 500 ONCE fired Steel .223 cases, Boxer primed. If you are brave enough and want to meet/collect and turn into a .20 calibre give me a shout!!
