LAMPING COMP

Recommended Posts

it was longdogrunners and rew heat last night wich we ran up the dales on one of my farms , the very steep one

rew got off to a bad start missing his first , and longdog got off to a good start not missing for the first few. well we climed steadily upwards acounting for a good few . the wind was blowing well and there were good numbers out.

after an hour and a half we stopped and i quikly gutted all the rabbits they had 10 each , but longdog had a runn in hand.

now this farm is very testing for the dogs theres lots of steep banks and humps and hollers. but the dogs ran well acounting for most of there runns, in particular longdogs dog bruse, who went for a long period of not missing anything.

we then had a drop off at the road and longdorunner had 16 and rew 15, with logdog next to run. we crossed over the road lamping the fields down to the river . both dogs acounting for 1 each hear. then over the fence in to the next , this where rews dog cought a rabbit only to let it go , and the rabbit made its escape.

we carried on then down the road only catching one more . well that was the end off the night

and Longrunner had wone , the score was 20 angainst Rews 18.

for me personly it was a good night, normaly i hate going if im not running a dog , but i realy enjoyed it. we had a good crack and good sportmanship was shown by both parties, with both lads yousing there lamps to asist the others dogs when they go over a brough in the field.

i will now comment on both dogs. i have seen rews dog work better, and i think the long layoff from a decent haul combined with its reacent injury didn't help. but of course thats all part in parcel of running dogs.

now longdog has also had similar injurys to contend with , and of course the recent poor weather hasn't helped us lads keep the dogs at the top of there game. but i was impressed with bruce he ran well and didn't miss many at all , he also has a good retrive.

now last but not least :tongue2::clapper: after we set of for home i got a srange mobile number ring me

its only the police they have stopped logdog on the way home, of course he aint a clue where hes been :notworthy: of course i told the copper he was a no good poacher who should be locked up :clapper: . he asked me a few questions ,and as a last comment i said to the copper "if your having a quite night keep him there for a bit longer"

well done to both of you TOMO  REW PUT SOME PICS UP MY MRS HAS TOOK THE CAMERA TO WORK

Well i cant really add to what Tomo said, it was a good night and a good close contest!!!!

Yeah the copper kept me for over half an hour!!!! He told me to have a seat in his car after he had run checks on me, unknown to me he'd asked for a breathaliser and whilst i was sitting in his car, police cars pulled up from all directions, my anus muscles tightened quite a bit!!!!

Cheers for a good night lads!!!!!

Well done lads sounds like you had a good heat .LDR you were lucky the police kept you just half an hour last time we got pulled down there they had us there over an hour even though he knew we had permission straight away he then went over the car looking for faults then sent us on our way.

The copper was alright actually, my sat nav took me down a one way street the wrong way, only about a 20ft road and i could see the end so, not knowing the area, i just crept down the road, and an unmarked car was coming along at the wrong time, its the second time in 2 months i've been pulled over on me way home from lamping, neither time though have they looked in the car........it'd be the first thing i'd do!!!!!!
