I have just got a stainless steel probe from DD Timber Products, they are in the countrymans weekly this week on the back page, its a strong well made piece of kit, there number is 01388 722600, got a terreir box of them a few weeks back to very nice job

I make mine from old road pins, the smooth ones. Get my boss to weld them up into a T

Had a piece of ally bar about 5 ft long and 1/2" diameter I was going to use as a probe for the mole runs, It's an old lightning spike of a telecoms tower, light as a feather, but I cut the damn thing in half. Probs would have suited a few of you lads. Damn.

Another perfect probe is a stopcock key with the key cut off. They are tayor made for the job

get a couple of road pins cut to size and take to your nearest welder got mine this way only cost a couple of pound to have it welded if you dont want to do that theres a bloke in edrd every month small ad does them
