wild rover 548
Very disappointed at the response to the thread reporting of Cyril Tyson passing away, the terrier man, who formed the Fell and Moorland and Cumbria Terrier Club, who was the forerunner in breeding many of todays working terriers and has done more for terrier work than most of us could dream of. Thought more would respond. A poor effort chaps. Quote Link to post

david2363 42
A mate of mine got a couple of dogs from the man 25 years ago, typey good looking Black and tans, turned into great workers. I remember going down with him to pick them up, was it Egremont or Lamplugh way? Cyril was a nice fella and gave us youngsters plenty of encouragement at the time. Quote Link to post

mad al 146
Sadly another example of modern life, folk do not want to know any more . They would rather post bullshit and wait to see if anyone has a bigger knob Quote Link to post
neil cooney 10,416
Mr Tyson judged a show over here a good few years back. A friend was talking to him at the show when a youngster came along very keen for Cyril to see the fresh scars on his terrier. They tried to ignore the pest as best they could. "Look where my terrier got bitten" said the pest. "I suppose he f*****g cried" snapped Cyril. The pest left them alone. Quote Link to post
gonetoearth 5,144
Mr Tyson and his ilk bred terriers to work , a tool to do a job , in doing this they past on a legacy fell terriers blacks and black and tans from working stock the biggest tribute to pay these men is to keep this tradition alive , he,ll yield not one inch though they maul him he,ll fight to the death on his own though sometimes he,ll be imprisoned by a rush -in of soil or of stone and then the brave lads of the valleys, to save him will toil day and night, and join in a hallo of triumph as he blinks back to gods blessed light RIP CYRIL TYSON GONE TO EARTH Quote Link to post

His original stock are the life blood of many of todays working terriers, Cyril was 84 when he passed away, in latter years his terriers were loaned to trusted locals who worked them or went into hunt service. In fact Cryil gave many a terrier away, starting many young terrier enthusiasts up in the game. Quote Link to post
