another german terrier very similiar to the jagdterrier (german hunting terrier)

 

would be nice to see howthey work

 

if anyone is wondering im not looking for the next wonder terrier when i post these i just like these more unusual terriers that are stricktly hunting dogs with no influence from KC

you can see the fox terrier in them alot

 

colour is abit of a down fall if hunting boar

lol meant wonder terrier and if there were such a breed id have one

 

they do look on the large side. but if they have the drive im sure they are fine

They look ideal for hunting cover for foxes anyone got any more info on the makeup of them? do they work to ground if needs be?

Westfalen terrier is almost same breed than jagdterrier, there is alot of jagdterriers behind those westfalens bedigree. They working style is same as jagdterrier.

it states in the breed that they must be able to work underground so if they can do it on the continent why not here? smaller dog might have easier time underground but larger terriers can still work fine underground if they want the fox they will ! get it

must be able and really do are 2 difrend things if you ask me but the owner that had the one i have seen work told that 95% of the dogs are whit boarhunting people

see it like the plummer terrier , plummer is bred for ratting and the westfalen terrier is bred mainly for boarwork ... and in both plummer and westfalen are a few that can do earthwork that would suit you but the percentage of them is much lower than using a mainly bred earthdog from workinglines ! so why lower your own chance of getting what you want if you want a pure earthdog !

the club site say the mainpart was the german jagd and lakeland and foxterrier was addet to create the westfalenterrier !
