Irish Lurcher 1,013
Well folks here’s how tonight went. We arriver down to foxhunter at around 7.30, at 7.31 I was handed a cup of tea, great start to the night. This was my first visit to foxhunters home, and I was made to feel most welcome, very nice people indeed. We arrived at the venue at 8.30, the toss for first slip was made and Richie was the winner. The rabbits were thin on the ground, but we had a few slips. It came right down to the wire in the end, two rabbits each and the last slip went to foxhunter. Our last field was a wee one that ran in front of a house, a quick shine and foxhunter found a bunny close enough to the bitch. Away went Sandy and within seconds she had her third rabbit and foxhunter was through to the next round, it was a very close run heat, Richie had missed two easy rabbits, but foxhunter’s bitch was just too good on the night. Well done to both lads for taking part, and also thanks to Sean who filmed the session, it was a good night out with lads who really love their sport. It was back to foxhunters house for tea, again I was impressed with the hospitability that awaited us, tea and home made scones were waiting for us as we arrived, fair play to Dave and his wife for making me feel most welcome in their home.
